🧭 How to Get to Güigüi (The Hiking Way)
If you’re into nature and don’t mind breaking a sweat, hiking to Güigüi is an unforgettable experience. Here’s how to do it:
🚗 Step 1: Getting to the Starting Point
Drive to the small village of Tasartico, located on the west side of Gran Canaria. It’s about:

1 hour 45 minutes from Maspalomas

1 hour 20 minutes from Puerto de Mogán
You’ll drive through some wild landscapes to get there. Park at the end of the road near a place called Inicio Senda a Güigüi (Google Maps knows it).
🥾 Step 2: The Hike
The trail starts with a steady climb up the Degollada de Aguas Sabinas (don’t worry, it sounds scarier than it is). It takes about 45-60 minutes to reach the top, depending on your pace. From the top, the views are amazing—volcanic valleys, endless cliffs, and the ocean calling in the distance.
Then comes the descent toward the coast, which takes another 45 minutes to 1 hour. The path is dry, rocky, and exposed, so bring a hat and sunscreen. Once you reach the coast, you’ll arrive at Güigüi Chico, the first small beach. During low tide, you can walk over to Güigüi Grande, the larger beach next to it.
